These are Adam Savage’s good things.
Good things to read.
Taken from Savage’s Twitter feed he suggests, Hollywood Sketchbook: A Century of Costume Illustration saying “my favorite subject: costumes!”.
His feed also suggests checking out A Million Little Bricks about the history of Lego’s – “The best part of the book is the pictures.”
“Finished! Just read the last book in Patrick O’Brian’s Aubrey/Maturin novels. Awesome. Wish there were more. Next up: Hornblower”
Good things to watch.
Blade Runner is a Savage favorite as are Poltergeist, ET, The Thing, Wrath of Kahn, and Tron. As BoingBoing points out, 1982 was a good year for movies.
Good things to use.
Savage told Wired that he liked “expensive stuff” on eBay one of which was a Curta Mechanical Calculator – gear driven with a crank of course. He also thought a helmet with “carbon-fiber shell with lambskin lining” was pretty great.
If you’re a maker you gotta have some tools, check out Adam’s Cave for his.
